Online Shopping: Home Decor
There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t find myself looking online at Pottery Barn, Overstock, or West Elm, for new home decor. Being inside for 60+ days has made me realize how much re-decorating I need to do to our apartment. Also, scrolling through Instagram and seeing some of these well known bloggers homes does NOT help the situation either. But hey maybe one day my future home will look like theirs but until then…Hellooooo Pinterest! I’ve recently created Pinterest boards of what I would want in my apartment. Pinterest is my new best friend. I feel like I’ve become an interior designer during quarantine lol. But in all seriousness, I have purchased a few things here and there to spice up our apartment. I will share pictures of our apartment with you guys once I finish re-decorating.
Podcast: Lewis Howes School Of Greatness
One of my good friend’s introduced me to this podcast a while back. School Of Greatness is a podcast designed to help push you towards the life you want. Lewis Howes is so inspiring and motivating. He gives you great advice on how to live a more impactful life. I always have a positive mindset after listening to his episodes. My favorite episode I’ve listened to during quarantine was 3 Ways to Keep Anxiety from Going Viral with Dr. Jud Brewer. It’s such an uncertain time right now and my anxiety has been through the roof. I know a lot of people are struggling with the same thing. I highly recommend this podcast if you’re dealing with any type of anxiety right now.
Books: Rachel Hollis’s Girl Wash Your Face
I’ll admit, I was never really a bookworm. Maybe in the summer if I was relaxing on the beach. If I did read, it would be about love stories, cosmopolitan magazines, or female empowerment books. That’s why I decided to try Rachel Hollis’s Girl Wash Your Face and Girl Stop Apologizing books. I heard amazing reviews about both and was recommended by multiple friends. Rachel Hollis is the founder of the lifestyle website, TheChicSite.com and is the CEO of her own media company, Chic Media. Basically she’s a BADASS BOSS BABE. I just finished her first book, Girl Wash Your Face and it was so refreshing to read especially during a time like this. Each chapter begins with a lie that Rachel Hollis once told herself to believe and it’s so relatable. Some lies that I related to were, “‘I’ll start tomorrow” and “I’m a terrible writer”. If you need a confidence booster, I highly recommend reading Girl Wash Her Face. I’m just started her second book, Girl Stop Apologizing. I’ll let y’all know what I think!
TV Show: Sex and the City
This one goes out to all the single ladies! JK Sex and the City is literally for everyone. I know people who are in their 50’s, 40’s, 30’s, and 20’s (married and not married) who watch it. I can’t believe it took me this long to finally get into it! I would randomly watch it on TV if it was on but never from start to finish. With everything going on, I have a lot of free time to catch up on all 6 seasons plus the 2 movies.I’m currently on Season 6 right now and cant get enough. I feel like I’m Carrie Bradshaw but with a fashion blog lol. Rory and I are going to watch the movie tonight (once I’m done with season 6) and I am so excited! He’s never watched the show but since he hogs the TV every night, I’m making him watch the movie with me.
Wedding Planning:
When Rory proposed to me in August 2019, he wanted a quick engagement (aka 1 year) and wanted to get married September 2020. I tried really hard to pick a place and a date. I would even go by myself to look at venues. I felt overwhelmed and pressured by my family and friends to get things done in a hurry that I took a huge step back and chose to get married in 2021. We now have our date, church, and venue picked out and even that was a struggle. Now, I am on Pinterest 24/7 pinning every wedding dress I see. I am so indecisive about everything, so this should be fun…
It’s definitely a weird time for future brides right now. I honestly can’t imagine what all the 2020 brides are going through. It sucks 100% but I admire all the couples who are making the best out of this terrible situation. I’ve seen Zoom call weddings and backyard weddings all throughout social media. Those couples are the ones who are reminding us what it really means to be in love and I just want to say thank you to them. Thank you for showing us what marriage is really all about.
What are your guilty pleasures during quarantine?
Xoxo
